Victorian Conservatory
Victorian is not necessarly a specific style of architecture but was created to describe the period of Queen Vistoria. As she had a long reign was about in the period of a design style boom and the industrial revolution symbolized by the Great Exhibition of 1851. It was this period in the 1850’s that the word “Victorian” became synonymous with prized architecture of intricate detail and adornments, a back lash to pure symmetry.
A classical style used to exemplify glamour. Victorian Conservatories are often selected to match the style of the house but we find that the “je ne sais quo” or I don’t know what it is about it – but I like it is the reason for choosing Victorian Conservatory. A Victorian Conservatory style is a good representation of the British Empire, wealth and status.
Queen Anne style
Queen style Conservatory is a more common reference to Victorian conservatory style, style more elaborate with trusses and trussed roofs, fancy detail was a feature of this period.
